Dylan Again

After posting my most recent demi rant... I remembered that we had been told the answer to these and many other questions long, long ago....

Blowing In the Wind -Bob Dylan -1963
How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

How many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Like your blog and particularly your realistically hopeful tone about what kind of change could lie ahead. I found my way here from your 12/1 comments at confederateyankee on the latest on the TNR-Beachamp story. Those thoughts, the ones in your Dylan postings, as well as those in the Demographics is Destiny post, combine to highlight some of the same things I've been seeing in the character of many younger folks of the Millennial/Generation Y cohort. I also used to work for a company that had Fannie Mae as a client during the Frank Raines era, so I watched with interest as things came to light (due in large part to Cox's efforts) prior to his ouster. On a related note, I currently live in Massachusetts, so I'm also watching with interest as our governor's potential ties to the sub-prime mess are getting attention. Your links section is solid. One site I didn't see (though might've just it) that you might really like is Richard Fernandez's blog The Belmont Club. Check it our at fallbackbelmont.blogspot.com. He's one of the co-founders of Pajamas Media.
